Explore the wild Atlantic coast of Morocco on an epic 8-day journey. We will leave behind the hustle and bustle of Marrakech to discover the tranquility of Essaouira, the modern charm of Agadir, and the unspoiled beauty of the south.
This circuit will take you through spectacular coastal landscapes, such as the famous red stone arches of Legzira Beach and the historic city of Sidi Ifni. Venture into the gates of the Western Sahara at Guelmim and Tan-Tan, and marvel at the geographical diversity of the Anti Atlas in Tafraoute. A perfect combination of ocean, desert, and Berber culture.
Departure in the morning towards the coast. Arrival in Essaouira, the ancient Mogador. Free time to explore its fortified medina (UNESCO Heritage), the woodcraft souks, and the fishing port where you can taste fresh fish. Overnight in Essaouira.
We travel south along the scenic coastal road. Stop in Imsouane, a famous surfer village with panoramic views. Continuation to Agadir. Visit the Oufella Kasbah for a full view of the bay. Overnight in a hotel in Agadir.
Departure south. Visit Legzira Beach, famous for its red stone arches sculpted by the sea. Continue to Sidi Ifni, a former Spanish city with Art Deco architecture. Overnight in the area.
Exploration of the "Gateway to the Desert" in Guelmim, the Amtoudi oases, and the pink granite rock formations in Tafraoute. We will cross the Anti Atlas towards Taroudant, the "Little Marrakech".
Return crossing the Tizi n'Test pass (depending on weather) with spectacular views of the High Atlas. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon and transfer to the airport or Riad.
1. Documentation: When traveling south (Guelmim, Tan-Tan), police checks are frequent. It is mandatory to keep your passport handy at all times.
2. Distances: Some days involve long drives to cover distances between the coast and the interior. We make frequent stops, but patience is required.
3. Weather: The Atlantic coast can be windy and cool even in summer, especially at night. Bring light warm clothing (windbreaker).
4. Cash: In rural areas and small towns like Sidi Ifni or Tafraoute, card payment is not always available. Carry enough cash (Dirhams).
