Our best-seller. Experience the magic of Morocco on a quick but intense 3-day getaway to the golden dunes of Merzouga. This trip is the perfect introduction to the Sahara Desert.
We will cross the High Atlas Mountains, visit the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, and explore the Dades and Todra Gorges. The highlight will undoubtedly be the sunset camel ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes and the night in a camp under a blanket of stars, enjoying Berber music around the fire.
Early departure from Marrakech (7:30-8:00 AM). We will cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, enjoying panoramic views. We will visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO Heritage). Lunch and continuation to Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses until reaching the Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Breakfast and departure to the impressive Todra Gorges for a short walk. We will continue towards Erfoud and Rissani, gates of the desert. Arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon. Here you will switch the vehicle for camels to enter the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset. Arrival at the camp, traditional dinner, and overnight under the stars.
Wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes. Return by camel (or 4x4) to the hotel for breakfast and shower. Return trip to Marrakech crossing the arid and fascinating Anti Atlas and the Draa Valley. Lunch en route. Arrival in Marrakech in the evening (approx. 19:30 PM).
1. Pickup: Pickup is early (07:30 - 08:00 AM) to make the most of the day. If your Riad is not accessible by car, the driver will wait for you at the nearest point.
2. Weather: Nights in the desert can be very cold in winter (Dec-Feb). Bring warm clothing. In summer, the sun is very strong.
3. Distances: This tour covers more than 1000km in 3 days. Be prepared to spend several hours in the car, although the landscapes are spectacular.
4. Luggage: You can bring your suitcase, but it is recommended to carry a small backpack with essentials for the night in the tent camp.
In the luxury camp (included in the superior option), each tent has a private bathroom and shower. In the standard camp, bathrooms are shared.
Yes, you can go by 4x4 to the camp if you prefer not to ride a camel. Please let us know in advance.
Yes, both in the included dinners and in the route restaurants, there are vegetable tagine or vegetable couscous options.
