Venture into the heart of the Toubkal National Park with this day trip to Imlil. Located at the foot of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa (4,167 m), Imlil is a picturesque mountain village known as the "Chamonix of Morocco".
Leave the hustle and bustle of Marrakech behind and breathe the fresh mountain air. We will walk among walnut, apple, and cherry trees, visit traditional Berber villages built of adobe, and enjoy an authentic homemade lunch on the terrace of a local family with panoramic views of the valley. An unforgettable cultural and natural immersion experience.
Pick up at your hotel. Travel south passing through the Moulay Brahim gorges. If it's Saturday, we will stop at the traditional Asni market to see how locals do their weekly shopping.
Meeting with your local mountain guide in Imlil (1740m). Start of a gentle hike (or mule ride, optional) towards the village of Aremd (1900m), passing waterfalls and terraced crop fields.
Enjoy a delicious homemade lunch (salads, tagine, couscous, and fruit) prepared in a Berber family home, with impressive views of the Toubkal massif.
Hike back along a different path to enjoy new perspectives of the valley. Stop for a final mint tea by the river before meeting the driver again.
Arrival in Marrakech and transfer to your accommodation.
No, we adapt the pace to your level. It is an easy to moderate hike. If you get tired or don't want to walk, mules are always available for rent in the village.
Sports or hiking shoes are essential. Bring warm clothing (layers) as the temperature in Imlil is much lower than in Marrakech, even in summer.
