Detailed Itinerary

08:00 AM

Departure from Marrakech

Pick up at your hotel or Riad in Marrakech in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. Journey of approximately 2.5 to 3 hours through changing landscapes, passing olive groves and Berber villages of the Middle Atlas.

11:00 AM

Arrival and Guided Hike

Arrival in Ouzoud. We will begin a gentle hike descending along shaded paths of olive trees to the base of the waterfalls. On the way, it is very likely we will encounter wild colonies of Barbary macaques.

13:00 PM

Boat Ride and Lunch

Opportunity to take one of the small local boats to get close to the falling water (very refreshing experience). Afterwards, we will enjoy a traditional lunch (Tagine, skewers) at one of the restaurants with panoramic views of the waterfalls.

16:00 PM

Return to Marrakech

Climb back to the vehicle and return trip to Marrakech. Approximate arrival at your accommodation around 18:30 - 19:00 PM.

Can you swim at the waterfalls?

Yes, there are designated areas for swimming in the river at the bottom of the falls. The water is refreshing, ideal in summer.

Is the hike difficult?

The descent is moderate, with stairs and well-marked paths. Great physical fitness is not required, but comfortable shoes are recommended.

  • Footwear: Wear sneakers or comfortable walking shoes, not flip-flops.
  • Weather: It gets hot in summer, bring a hat and sunscreen. In winter it can be cool in the morning.
  • Monkeys: They are wild but used to humans. Do not feed them processed food (peanuts sold there are acceptable).
